Kick It Forward Foundation
Kenya Mission (2024)
Before arriving to our ultimate destination, Kibera Girls Soccer Academy, we were invited to the campus of another local nonprofit called Amani Kibera. We toured the location and learned about their mission to provide academic resources, free art and sports classes, and welfare programs to the children who live in the Kibera slums.
Thanks to the drives we hosted in LA (at a school, a local soccer club, and a sports store), as well as generous contributions from our donors, we were able to transport two hundred pounds of gently-used and new athletic gear to our friends at KGSA. The soccer team was thrilled to receive training jerseys, workout shorts, socks, and shin guards, and the rest of the girls loved the wide variety of tops, sweatshirts, shorts, candy, and prizes!

Following the visit to Amani Kibera, we finally arrived to Kibera Girls Soccer Academy (KGSA). Located in the Kibera slums of Nairobi, Kenya, KGSA provides housing, academic resources, athletic opportunities, and scholarships to one hundred fifty local girls. We received a tour of the campus from the school director and were very warmly welcomed by the students with a traditional Kenyan dance. What a great community!
Following the distribution of gear, we hosted a soccer training session with the team - so much incredible talent!
What a wonderful way to spend KIFF's fourth mission... so many smiles, lots of great soccer, and some unforgettable memories.
